  1. Always have a safety ring or flotation device near your pool.
  2. Fitting a safety alarm will give you peace of mind.
  3. Consider the possibility of fitting a safety fence around your pool area with a secure lockable gate.
  4. Never allow youngsters to swim alone without adult supervision. It is quite common to develop cramp underwater. It is paramount that there should be persons around to help in such situations.
  5. Do not allow children with no knowledge of swimming in or around the pool unsupervised. For good pool safety make sure that all children attend a certified swimming class or at least learn basic flotation techniques and life saving techniques in case of any accident.
  6. Never allow your child to walk on the cover.
  7. Become conversant in basic CPR techniques.
  8. The last tip to ensure swimming pool safety, BE OBSERVANT at all times.
